    This is something I have never understood – although non-native language signs in a foreign country can be somewhat forgiven. But why not just get a native speaker to do a quick proof read? Or nowadays, just google the phrase and let it ask ‘Did you mean: “smoking”‘. The problem is rampant here in the US on Asian restaurant menus. My Italian girlfriend constantly points out errors on the menus in Italian restaurants – one place was actually listing everything in something like Span-talian (Spanish spellings of the Italian words)!

    But I guess the world wouldn’t be nearly as amusing if everything was perfect!
